An Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality report revealed that $17.4 billion was spent for maternal care with delivery-related complications in 2008 in the US. Dehydration hard to diagnose in the elderly

During the summer months, older New York City residents may be at risk for becoming dehydrated. The effects of dehydration can range from minor dizziness to heat stroke. Elderly people have a propensity to become dehydrated due to the medications they take, forgetfulness about eating or drinking and weaker thirst sensations. At the same time, it can be challenging for doctors to diagnose elderly people with dehydration.

Chemotherapy Errors and Medical Malpractice

In the United States, nearly 14.5 million children and adults that have had a history of cancer were healthy and alive as on January 1st, 2014. Unfortunately, it is estimated that 500 deaths occur each year in the country as a result of chemotherapy errors. Roughly 3% of errors that are related to chemotherapy are reported. Also, 63% of oncology nurses reported that chemotherapy errors occurred in their place of work.
